We will be loading up stuff from the other Open2x documentation sources over the next few weeks as we go along.

Use this site just like you would a normal Wiki.

You can also use the tabs along the top of every page to jump to relevant start pages for various aspects of the project.

The project is always on the lookout for assistance on a number of sub-projects. You can get an overview of what needs work from the global project TODO page.

[edit] About the project

Open2x is an umbrella project to bring open source, community friendly, solutions to the GP2X Linux handheld system. The project consists of a number of complementing sub-projects that work together to deliver things such as the Open2x toolchains, kernel and firmware.

The project is very heavily centred on its SVN repository but the project is actively working towards milestone public releases.

You can view information about the active projects by clicking the projects tab on the top of any Wiki page.

[edit] Project history

The projects origins date back prior to the release of the commercial version of the GP2X and the project started as a way to collect the appropriate source code and ensure all parties involved in the GP2X complied with the appropriate licences (mostly the GPL) on the sourcecode. You can read more about this on the project history page if youΓÇÖre interested.

These days the project has evolved and is mainly focused around bringing best of breed toolchains, firmware, kernels, libraries and supporting tools for all your GP2X hacking needs.
